Irmco’s revolutionary lubrication technology is based on increasing its viscosity under the influence of heat. Indeed, Irmco’s oil-free thin film lubricants are generally needed on the tool surface in less than half the amount compared to traditional oil-based lubricants. In addition, typically Irmco lubricants do not need to be washed off before welding, which allows for radical cost savings as well as faster product throughput. If necessary, Irmco can be cleaned from workpieces with plain water or a mild alkaline solution, which typically reduces chemical, water and energy consumption by at least 75%. Splash-free welding and laser cutting
Irmco’s product range also includes the most effective welding and laser splash protection on the market. The substance is sprayed on the part to be welded just before welding and the splashes generated in the process do not stick to the surface, creating an aesthetically pleasing seam and product. In laser cutting, on the other hand, the material prevents the formation of splashes and burrs and enables better cutting of unclean materials, such as rusty materials.
Irmco’s technology brings huge savings
IRMCO’s technology has replaced more than 38 million liters of conventional lubricants, which has saved our customers more than 600 billion euros. For the environment, it has meant 38 million liters less oil pollution. The number is so large that, in successive oil barrels, it would form a queue of nearly 200 kilometers. That would be enough to meet the needs of all metal forming companies in North America for two years.

Tool life and speed - Productivity
IRMCO’s high-quality chemicals lower machining temperatures and reduce friction, resulting in improved metal flow and reduced tool wear. Better protection reduces the need to clean tools, premature wear and the amount of scrap metal. On average, IRMCO customer tools last 25% longer.
HIGH STRENGTH STEEL
IRMCO’s Extreme Temperature (ET) High Solid Polymer (HSP) technology has replaced traditional products, as its friction-reducing properties significantly improve metal flow in advanced high-strength steels up to 1300 MPa. Studies of gas deposition (CVD), physical film growth (PVD) and thermodiffusion (TD) coated tools used in metal forming have shown that IRMCO film significantly extends the durability of the coating. Automotive studies with high-strength steel have also shown a 25% increase in tool life.
Improved tool performance and IRMCO’s advanced molding technology can improve metal elongation by up to 55%, allowing for lower raw material costs or more efficient utilization of the metal. This can lead to 10-20% savings in material costs.
COMPOSITION, CLEANING AND PAINTING
IRMCO molding agents can be removed with 50 ° C (ºC) water alone or with a mild alkaline cleaner. The washing temperature can be reduced by 10 degrees and the service life of the pretreatment baths can be extended by 50%. In some cases, parts can be welded or assembled without cleaning, resulting in significant savings in energy and process costs. Leading paint factories have awarded IRMCO an award for an excellently compatible molding compound.
ISO 14001 ENVIRONMENT
According to EPA criteria, the toxicity of IRMCO products is the lowest in the industry. IRMCO products have an LC50 value of as much as 64,000 ppm, making them easy to recover, recycle, or in some cases even discharge into the sewer without treatment. Improving the efficiency of the cleaning process significantly reduces the risks posed by cleaning chemicals and the amount of their use.
