Mobile multifunction machining and welding unit

Italian Sir Meccanica manufactures portable multifunctional machining and welding units for various maintenance and repair needs. The plant was closed in 1991 and operates in Catanzaro, Italy, about 90% of production is exported and machinery is already in use in 103 countries.

Sir Meccanica’s W-Series machines can perform drilling, reaming, welding, turning and grinding without laborious and time-consuming removal of parts from machines or other repairable items where machining is required. Most work sites save part removal time, in addition to no transport to the machine shop, no long downtimes, and the installation of the machining unit on the site to be repaired takes only a few minutes.

The smallest WS 1 machine in the new W series can be used for drilling and welding in holes with a diameter of 110 mm, and the largest WS 7 machine in the series can be used up to a diameter of 1200 mm and there is no limit to the depth.

For example, an oval loop hole is widened larger, after reaming, the welding torch is replaced by a machine and it only takes a few minutes after the fillet welding is completed to machine the hole to the correct length. If there are several holes to be machined in the same line, they can be machined with the same unit mounting.

Special emphasis has been placed on the durability of the machine with regard to its operating environment, the body and flanges are made of G20 UNI 5007 special steel, all components such as bearings, seals, etc. have been selected from high-quality suppliers. The quiet transmission system, whose basic materials for the mechanisms are the surface-hardened blade 16CrNi4, the perfect contact of the components guarantees good performance and quiet running sound.

The 100% torsionally rigid body is entirely shaped so that the motor housing is compact and conforms to the lines of the body.

All functions are centralized on the control panel, where it is possible to adjust the cutting speed, feed speed and directions of rotation and feed, all of which are displayed on a digital display. Also in fillet welding, the welding speed and depth feed adjustments are made from the control panel

Standard delivery includes equipment for reaming, drilling, welding and threading, the machine has an operating voltage of 220V / 50Hz and a power consumption of only a minimum of 0.8 A and a maximum of 12 A and is IP 54 rated. Powerful motors enable efficient and effective operation of the machines even in difficult conditions

The manufacturer also supplies a unit for welding only.
